Seal It Company
Mission Statement:
Seal-It Insulation Systems insulates residential, commercial, and industrial buildings using proven foam products which provide the highest insulating performance while maintaining the highest level of indoor air quality possible. There are projects that will pay back both in budget and in comfort. We work with homeowners, architects, contractors and facility managers to design high performing insulation systems, and to solve building performance issues such as ice damming, freezing pipes, costly heating bills, mold and mildew conditions, and drafty, uncomfortable living spaces.
Co-Owner & President
Robert M. Clunie joined the staff of Seal It Insulation Systems as an applications engineer in 2004. Mr. Clunie has had 25 years experience in
energy conservation field in design engineering and management of for civil, mechanical, HVAC, steam power, and electrical co-generation projects.
He owned and operated Applied Engineering, Inc., an engineering consulting group dedicated to the design and implementation of innovative and cost
effective energy and resource saving projects mostly for commercial and industrial clients.
Besides a master’s degree in environmental engineering, Mr. Clunie is also a registered professional engineer in Maine and Massachusetts, a Certified Energy Manager (C.E.M.),
and a Certified Environmental Engineering Manager (C.E.E.M.).
Some of the energy related projects pertinent to his new position include: paper machine room ventilation systems with heat recovery and recirculation;
on machine air drying systems; solid fueled boiler design and installation; comprehensive energy audits for demand side energy management and electrical
cogeneration for hospitals and other commercial and industrial entities; and paper machine and other industrial equipment steam power and condensate
return systems.
Much of the energy related experience and training that Mr. Clunie has acquired over the years can be applied to foam insulation applications that
qualify as passive energy conservation. Each application is different, and the potential for optimizing insulation performance in older buildings and
new buildings under construction resulting in substantial energy savings is very real. Mr. Clunie feels that applying and integrating foam insulations
with new building technologies and materials to be sure that everything acts in concert and performs well in new and existing construction is both
challenging and rewarding.

Co-Owner
John has been in and around the construction fields his entire life. With family generations of builders behind him, John was the first to break the pattern and get into other areas of
the building and construction fields.
With a keen eye on building science and technology John decided that he could use his varied talents to better serve the public by getting involved with
cutting edge energy savings techniques and building practices. In John’s eyes, public education is key, along with using the right products for the
differing applications. Using this approach saves time and money for our customer which is a source of pride for John and the company!
John spends his free time in the continuous process of his home renovation and when he gets a chance, you might find him fly fishing up at Kennebago
Lake or striper fishing off the cost somewhere. An avid Maine Coast boater, John retains his love of the ocean after spending many years above the
Arctic Circle on patrol during his stint in the Coast Guard.
“My personal goals for this company are helping to educate the consumer in the many products on the market today that will greatly help reduce their energy consumption,
thus saving them money”.

website design and networking. Keeping every day as organized and seamless as possible is one thing she strives for with all her effort.
Laura has always had a love of fine homes and homebuilding; the apple really doesn’t fall far from the tree! She is extremely invested in the growth and prosperity of this company and is
in it for the long haul, one house & one customer at a time.
When she’s not managing the business she is enjoying her life at home with her soon-to-be Husband & his two boys doing as much outdoors as they can; whether that be fishing, camping, four-wheeling
or taking the labs to the beach for a swim.
“I’ve truly enjoyed being part of the growth of the company and learning & seeing all the products that are available to help people save money during the course of the long winters
in Maine.”
