Whole House Retrofit

Investigating and Planning for Injection

Retrofitting a house makes a significant difference in it's thermal performance and greatly reduces external environmental noise.

When beginning a retrofit project it is necessary to investigate and prepare a building to receive injected foam. Seal It Insulation Systems inspects the wall cavity to determine whether there is any insulation that needs to be removed. It is necessary to have a totally void cavity to ensure a complete air seal. Access for foam injection can be from the exterior or the interior of the building. It is also necessary to make sure there is no live knob and tube wiring.

In renovation projects that have completely gutted walls the spray-in-place-foam method is used. As in new construction, all wiring and plumbing must be in place and inspected prior to spray foam application.
